On the afternoon of the 6th, Moon Chae-won attended the production presentation of SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama 'PAYBACK: Money and Power' (playwriter Kim Won-seok, director Lee Won-tae), which was held online and explained the character she is in charge of.

 

'Law' is an exciting revenge game between 'Gold merchant' Eun-yong and 'Legal engineer' Park Joon-kyung who confront against the law and money cartel. Eun-yong is played by actor Lee Sun-gyun, and Moon Chae-won will play Park Joon-kyung, a former prosecutor who completed an elite course and became an enforcement officer.

 

Regarding the selection of this work, Moon Chae-won said, "I was scared because she was a genre and role that I had never played before, but I had a dream to work with Lee Sun-kyun. He said he would, so that was great for me ."  I was happy with the catch.

She also added, "I was convinced that all of the director's works would fit well with 'PAYBACK: Money and Power'. When I had a meeting with the director, she sometimes fell in love with the director's charm. So I wanted to do more."

 

 

In the play, Park Joon-gyeong was a presecutor with a strong sense of justice and honesty, but when her mother Yoon Hye-rin (Kim Mi-sook) became a victim of the legal money cartel, she fought fack and became a soldier, desperate for revenge for everything she has.

 

 

In order to express Park Joon-kyung, a former prosecutor and an army major, Moon Chae-won said, "I tried to keep my makeup as low as possible."  She said, “I have a desire to be beautiful with conviction (during the production process.  Team would draw it nicely.” I thought it would be nice if Junkyung had that feeling, so I made reference to it.”

 

The inner preparation started with Moon Chae-won herself. She said , “It was not easy to come up with a character that could be used as a motif. So it was a natural start in a way from myself. In the process of creating a role, I couldn't think of a starting point, so starting from me, in a way, seemed like a natural start for me." Moon Chae-won said she wanted to show more mature acting through this work.

She said, "(Viewers) have a familiar image of me, but I'm satisfied if I can hear that I got a little bit of a new feeling, a mature feeling like 'Even an actor named Moon Chae-won is growing up, well', 'It's not a bad to get older'. I think it will be embarrassing.”

 

'PAYBACK: Money and Power' is written by Kim Won-seok of the drama 'The Queen's Classroom' and 'Descendants of the Sun' and directed by Lee Won-tae of the movie 'The Devil' and 'Captain Kim Chang-soo'. In addition, actors such as Lee Sun-kyun, Moon Chae-won, Kang Yoo-seok, Park Hoon, and Kim Hong-pa are working together to raise expectations.
